Stripes

I love this look, especially because it blends so well with the gorgeous London houses in the background (if only I could live here). I have had this jumpsuit for a while but I have been dying to shoot in it, I think it is so elegant, chic and easy to wear, especially where it cinches into your waist without having to style it with my fave belt. Like most of my items of clothing it is easy and simple, as a classic all-in-one culotte style white & black stripe jumpsuit it is extremely flattering and easy to accessorise. I have paired it  with some white converse and a loose over-size denim jacket which I casually draped over my shoulders.

boyfriend style

As you can see from this weeks post I have made a conscious effort to stay away from my black skinny jeans (pats self on back), I couldn't quite say goodbye to my favourite belt yet though. I was determined to go into Topshop and be brave and buy a new style of jeans that I wouldn't usually wear and fell in love with these mom jeans. I was worried that they were going to be unflattering and shapeless as they are completely different to the usual skinny jean style I usually wear. However.... I've decided that mom jeans make any of your outfits look effortlessly cool and I am already planning on the next colour I want to buy.

I have styled these jeans with a loose fitting white t-shirt which has a gorgeous bright blue trim detail, adding a nice splash of colour to the outfit, along with some classic All Star navy converse.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

I decided to do this outfit shoot a little differently, a more chilled follow me around rather stand in the same place and pose (actually....maybe still a little posed). Myself and my BFF, other-half and photographer ,otherwise known as Maddie, spent a lovely day in a quaint village nearby called Shere, most commonly recognized as the place where The Holiday was filmed. It is definitely very picturesque and quintessential, it has a little stream running through the village that is surrounded by rustic pubs and charming thatched cottages.

Surprisingly the weather was lush, it definitely made me excited for the arrival of Spring, however it did make shooting any type of half-decent picture much harder, attempting not to get a ridiculous sun glare or a member of the wedding-party from the local church in the background of all of my shots was a fun challenge.

Obviously, any sign of a bit of sun
then ice cream has to be involved, homemade mint choc chip and white chocolate to be exact.....dreamy.

Onto the important bit now, the outfit. I have been loving wearing my Asos black tie-up cullotes at the moment, they're so affordable, about 10x comfier than jeans and look much more stylish.I tucked in this grey marl branded Topshop tee with cut-out neck detail with my classic black Topshop leather jacket thrown over my shoulders. I must add I have had this jacket for yeaaaars now & it is still my go-to, it comes in handy with every outfit I style.

Dressing For Spring

The amazing team at KoKo Couture kindly gifted me this faux-suede, black envelope clutch bag  recently and I couldn't wait to style it. My favourite style of accessories are simple, classic pieces that can fit with any outfit so this was perfect for me. I am a big fan of any bag that is versatile so the fact this comes with a detachable metal chain strap, meaning that it can be transformed from a practical daytime bag into a stylish clutch on a night out is a big plus. I  also have to mention that this bag fits all my everyday essentials in perfectly, even my purse which seems to hoard everything (enough about the bag now, I know)

Finally, Spring has slowly started to arrive and  I have noticed that it has definitely been reflected in my current outfit choices, any sign of a bit of sun and warm weather and I have ditched all my chunky knits. This gorgeous white blouse with sheer floaty bell sleeves, a trend that is in every high-street shop right now, is the perfect Spring transition piece. I've thrown it together with a pair of classic blue skinny jeans and a simple pair of black pointed court shoes, which I may add were only £10 in Primark....

Feelin' Shirty

After starting at a new Internship last week I quickly learnt that I needed to update my wardrobe. I realised that I was seriously lacking tops that weren't completely inappropriate, apart from on a night out, or tops that weren't classified as oversized slouchy t-shirts, which I do seriously live in most of the time. I found this gorgeous embellished shirt from Zara last week and fell in love. I have always thought shirts were unflattering and reminded me too much of a school uniform, especially after being forced to wear them for over 15 years.... The pearl detail on the back of the shirt and delicate pearl buttons transform it from being just a boring, plain light blue shirt. I've styled it by tucking it into a pair of skinny high waisted black jeans with a H&M chunky silver belt (do I actually wear anything else...) I also think that this style of top is very versatile, I've changed the look from a simple and easy every-day work outfit to a classic and sophisticated evening look (in my opinion of course) by throwing it together with a white, faux crocodile skin style clutch bag, a couple of dainty silver chokers along with a pair of black sock boots.
